Sick Rock

5,000 ft West faceing cliff launch. In Sierras east of Porterville. Long glide out to best LZ next to road, best for higher-perfomance gliders. Short glide to decent LZ that requires a 1/2 mile hike out. Flying in the giant Sequoias. Beautiful, consistent. Usually flown later in afternoon when glass-off occurs. H3 recommended, local guide recommended. Hard to figure out exactly where launch and especially LZs are without local guide. Small group of friendly laid-back locals, most of whom have switched over to paragliding. Good XC potential.
