Renting Hang Gliders - a Reference Resource for National and International Travelers
Carry your Log Book, Rating Card and Proof of Third Party Insurance with you. Obtain an IPPI Card if you do not already have one.
Expect to be told there is a rental "proficiency test" ie a demonstration at a training hill or on appropriate tow rigs and attend an orientation to sites. Some schools will only rent to people they know.
Bring your own Harness and instruments, and be sure to check hang strap lengths. Bring your own Hang Strap if there is any question.
Some schools will factor into the rental cost that they have a requirement to strip the sail off and do a complete inspection at the conclusion of your rental period.
This is a collaborative effort by pilots from around the world. If you do not see your local School listed, and they do rent Hang Gliders, feel free to add an entry for it on this page. If you see something that needs updating or expanding, jump right in. Additional help is available at the bottom of each page when you are editing. Do not worry about messing anything up, since every version, of every page, is saved in the wiki, which makes it very simple to roll back to a previous version. If you need more information, please post your question in the forums.
