Location: 22 miles north of Reno, NV. Drive north on Pyramid Hwy. Turn right onto Whiskey Springs Road and drive east to Grass Valley Road. Turn left and drive north to Wayside Rd. Turn right onto Wayside Rd and then turn left at the first road. Follow that dirt road up the hill to the launches.
Launch Direction: SW for the lower launch, SW to W for the upper launch. SW is the preferred wind direction.

Launch Elevation: 5,100’ & 5,600’
LZ Elevation: 4,300’
Pilot Rating: Intermediate (H3), Advanced (H4). Novice (H2) with instructor supervision.
Type Launch: Sloping loose dirt, rocks, and sage brush.
LZ Location: Field straight out below the launch. Many other fields all over the valley can also be used for LZ’s.
Type landing: Primary LZ is a dirt and grass field with lots of small sage brush and a slight slope from East to West located on the north side of the house below launch.
Setup Area: Dirt area behind the lower launch with room for at least 15 gliders. Dirt, rock, and small brush area behind the upper launch with room for some gliders on the level top area with more setup space on the sloping back side of the hill.
Site Protocol: The LZ is private property and we have a good relationship with the current landowner. Don’t do anything to disturb the homeowners in the area. Slow down as you pass houses to keep the dust down.
Launch Access: Rough, steep, rocky, dirt road with a 10 minute turnaround. 4WD and some rugged 2WD with good clearance.
