Lake McClure offers wave, convergence, thermal and ridge soaring 320 days of the year.
I don't know the whole history of the site but I know I fly everyday with the only guys who ever flew across the whole Sierra Mountain range (true giants in my opinion.)
Multiple mountains to fly but rice mountain is where the launch is located.
The site club is the Mother Lode Sky Riders. The launch is private property and the LZs are parkland. Dan Venamen is the club president.
