Congrats on your decision. Tips I can give is, try to minimize the duration between lessons. Make a commitment to reserve time out of your life for HG training. Think about every flight, and try to get video of your flights to study later. Any video will do.And I truely think you need to have a close friend, perhaps the person who introduced you to HG, to be as a sort of mentor. To keep you inspired through your training period. Well, you never really should stop learning but the beginning is the hardest part about this sport. If there is something that you are struggling with in the beginning, know that many more have and will struggle with the same. There should be people in your group to provide you with immediate feedback. Always be open to feedback wheather you think it's good or bad, hear them out. That to me keeps me in the know that I haven't gotten too cocky with the skills I now have aquired. When you stop listening is when you should check yourself.Respect this sport, speed is your friend, slow is a friend that will turn on you. LISTEN to your instructor. And remember why you started HG in the first place. This sport never stops giving by way of great memories, and friends you meet along the way.Welcome and good luck and remember to relax.HG lessons are to help wrap your mind around the fact that you CAN fly. Do keep us posted.Peace, Glendeco

I'm doing my trainig right now and am posting from Lookout Mountain Flight Park. All I can say is that it's alot better than it appears and you will absolutely love it from the first time your feet leave the earth. Do it and don't look back. thumbsup

Congrats! I like what John Hiney says about learning. Go slow! John has his students do about 100 take offs and landings before you even get to start turning your glider. It is a lot of work but I have seen other pilots get out of the sport because they went to fast and had a bad experiance. I would also recomend a tandem flight. thumbsup
