Late bloomer in the blog business

Well I had to begin sometime and Jack's website here makes it easy.

A little intro....I have been flying for nearly 34 years now having been one of those inspired 70's pilots who saw the infamous Popular Mechanics article in 1972.

I'm a master rated pilot who lives in New Hampshire and does most of my flying in the New England area, which is the most challenging and inconvenient area of the country. Weather sucks, cloudbase is low, and we have no LZ's and few cleared hills. That said I have managed a nice flying resume placed well in the few national contests, held some local records and still XC competitive after all these years.

You will note that I sign most of my posts with the words ....Organ Donation Saves Lives. It is my commitment to promote organ donation where ever I go. I was so far the only HGing pilot ever to fly with a internal defibulator and now a transplanted heart. My new heart was a magical gift that came from a loving family who was able to think of saving another life as they were losing a loved one. The donor's name was Gary and there is not a day i don't thank him and his mom for their wonderful gift. It has allowed me to return to work, earn a living, along with my wife Anne, raise our two daughters and of course 6 months to the day after transplant ...return to the sport I love Hang Gliding.

I was a 100 miler XC guy when I was first hospitalized 3 year ago and I begin my journey to get another 100 miler again. This blog will be about my journey back.
