This is too awesome... I can't wait! Good find on the auto-flash being the problem, my SD700 now takes shots to no end... Might even have to muck w/the RAW format, but hell, I'm just impressed with it as-is. Now I don't have to get/make a remote shutter release for this cam.

Good stuff indeed. Those pictures were taken every 20 seconds for about 20 minutes of flight. I ended up with over 80 pictures and the battery meter says 50%, so I figure it could take 160 pictures before the battery goes out.

hmm, I thought I had the VG on. Maybe this was just as I was finding a thermal and let it out.

Doc.. give Lobido a break. The "Monkey Testing Facility" he is familiar with was outside the frame of the shot.

I can see a couple of video cameras in that pic too!

I figure I can get near 720 photos on my 2G card, so that's about 12 pics a minute or a pic every 5 seconds for an hour. If I'm feeling like I might get more than an hour, I could always bump it up to every 10 seconds or so.

Also, did you try turning off the display? Will save lots on battery life and your limit will be storage... I had to turn off the pic review, and then I turn off the display before entering ALT mode and starting the script.

the internet says my camera will do that,
I looked at a lot of downloaded instruction books to make sure that the Interval shooting mentioned

Like the Canon SD850 IS - (the problem with movie mode is lack of full resolution)

I Used DPREVIEW search function to help me find one with time lapse feature
and also an extra wide angle lens
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp

Note:
I did find this article just recently wich says that you can
enhance/re-program the Canon firmware in their cameras with an
open source dev kit - allowing it to shoot in real time lapse
(I will try it on a Canon SD800 and see if it works)
http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Supercharge_Your_Camera_with_Open-Source_CHDK_Firmware

yea, from what on saw online its movie mode
can you reprogram the Powershot to do that?

I could be wrong here, but from this picture it doesn't look to me like your hands are too low... it just looks like your whole body is hanging a bit low.

If you put your hands much farther up the downtubes you lose roll authority... which is basically like driving a car and taking your hands off the stearing wheel and just working the peddles. You can control speed, but what good does that do ya when one wing gets lifted?

my 2 cents... sorry to hijack the time lapse camera thread.

I've been using the time lapse feature for quite a while now (although my Olympus won't go faster than 1/minute). What I do is fly with a stopwatch and start the timer when I take the first picture... then I can at least look at my watch and I know that around every minute it's going to take a picture, so I can try to time it and aim at what I want in the picture, smile, do a wingover, whatever...

good point, I think I am low.. that's a constant problem with those leg loops... I need to get some clips or something, even tying them doesn't help.

Instead I just kinda slid in on wheels and one foot and one knee... I was happy to be down after my second, though less tumultuous, day in rotorville.
