Wagner-
Are you using one of those one-sided ladder post racks?
I considered a set of those, but I needed more carrying space to make friends.
So far it hasn't worked.
Anyway, whatever set up you have, looks as though it works for you.

That looks very well made. Say, can you take some more detail pictures? Are the gliders sitting in a sling there?

Great for short or long hauls.
I got the idea from a USHGA mag article maybe ten years ago?
take a 12 or 13" diameter PVC sewage pipe about 10 to 13ft long (I think mine is about 12ft and I use it for a Sting2xc 175 which is a ptretty long glider).
cut it in half lengthwise with a circular saw; and file down the sharp edges (very easy to file down the PVC)
actually, the half pipe was a little heavy for me so I ended up cutting it lengthwise again so that it was about a third of the circumference (a 1/3 pipe)
the front end is supported by a custom made rack that I went to a welder to make: it is a triangle where the base is about 30" and attaches to two pieces of square metal tubes protruding about an inch out from below the bumper, these pieces were welded on underneath to the frame of the car. the triangular rack has two square insert pieces which fit in to the two that are prtruding out from under the bumper; so it is real easy to attach and detach the rack; there is a bolt hole to insert a bolt to hold it in place like a pin but I don't even need it for short trips
the top or apex of the triangle has a u-shaped piece of flat metal welded to hold the nose of the glider bag
Then the "half pipe" rack is attached to a roof rack by drilling two holes and inserting a u bolt to attach it to one of the roof rack cross bars on the roof of the car.
Of course a picture would be worth a lot more than these many words, but hopefully you get the idea. This is a great rack which I've used just as easily for short trips to the mountain as I have for 800 mile trips down to Lookout Mountain. I also like the fact that there are no pressure points on the sail of the glider. And you can just slide the glide in and out of the pipe very easily.
the lazy man's perfect set-up!

Sweeeet! One helluva idea for the toy cars.
How is that little car to travel in?
rwisdom-
Post some pics when you can as they help others solve their rack problems
and what may work best for them.

I made a front bracket for my suzuki vitara(tracker?)
It is made up of several easily bought parts and cost pennies.
it uses the suckers used for lifting glass panes and a couple of sections of old downtubes some padding and voila a removeable glider rider that sticks to the hood of your car and is adjustable only takes a couple of seconds to fit and remove and is easily stored when not required

Truck Racks that carry at least 4 gliders are cool

I've put 231000 miles on the Vibe since 2003, including several trips to the Rockies from New England (not with gliders), and I've slept in the back on a number of occasions. I've taken a glider down to Virginia a couple of time with no issues. I've been very satisfied with my purchase.

I replaced the (manual) transmission at about 120K -- it had started making noise in Wyoming, but it wasn't convenient for me to get it serviced out there, so I kept driving (with increasing noises) until I got back to a friend's house in Connecticut, at which point I had totally trashed it. The replacement was from a wreck, and has been trouble-free. Other than that -- oil changes, tires, a windshield replacement, a couple of exhaust system things recently to pass state inspection (replaced the cat last year), and some body work when a pickup crossed the centerline in a snowstorm a few years ago and nailed the front corner (the pickup was incapacitated by the collision, but I was able to drive to the body shop). My previous car was a 1990 Corolla wagon that I got 271K from, and sold it, still running. 271K is my first target for the Vibe, followed by the 283K that my girlfriend got from her Subaru, then 300K. And I have never replaced a clutch.

it sounds like you do a lot of highway miles, if so a clutch should last damn near forever
my goal for my truck is 300k, my dads old 4wd civic has been abused for the last 320k but keeps on chugging(the odometer died though....)
my bike should hit 100k, then I can repaint it and sell it as a *low miles* since it will be reading 0

Got the rack sorted for the Rav4. Bolted a support to the spare wheel support. Strengthened the front bar with an old piece of metal conduit to take the bounce out of the shamefully weak Toyota roof bar. The Atos is solid as houses put on the ladders with wing-tips forward so that the main weight of the glider is nicely distributed.
In Europe I don't think you're allowed any overhang at the front but can have about 6ft at the back.
Just another solution for the pot.
Pete

I've got an older Rav4 myself. What I don't like (and you'll have the same problem) is that you won't be able to open the back door while the glider rack in on the vehicle.
Now, on my Rav I've got a front support and no rear support, but I often carry a bike rack that plugs into the trailer hitch receiver in the rear bumper - and THAT blocks the rear door from opening.
I've also got the tiny two door model with minimal storage area inside. Solution: I got an exterior metal shelf that also plugs into the bumper hitch receiver. But that also blocks the back door from opening.
