Any suggestions on schools/instructors that will teach and grant certifications with a minimum of bs?
Much thanks in advance!

A better question would be: "Where can I get H2 certified and learn to be the best and safest pilot so I won't get wallet suck from suffering a bad accident when I'm on my own". _________________ Mountains always have the right of way.

I know I'm going to be jumped on, but here goes.
You didn't say if you are air towing or cable towing.
If your air towing behind a tug my thoughts are.
Tandem air tows you can and will learn how to fly the hang glider much quicker. With the instructor right there with you will show you how to fly the glider, then help you fix sometime you might do incorrectly on the spot not later.
I've seen people learn in days what took me months to learn. I couldn't do a 90, 180 or 360 turn from the bunny hill. Your first tandem flight with an Air tow Tandem Instructor will have to do these maneuvers from your very first flight.
If you have the option to do Air tug air tows to learn, I'd jump on it. Learn the foot take-off and landing on a bunny hill or cable tow with your instructor.
You won't learn how to foot launch or foot land because the gliders are usually have wheels.
Where else are you going to be at 2000 to 2500 feet AGL on your first solo.
OK, Now everybody else is free to jump on me and tell me I'm full of it! |

No - you're not full of it, just flatland-centric. Here in California, we have these things called hills and mountains, which facilitate most instruction. There are just a coupe of instructors that I know of who do any type of towing.

@renmoore - I'm up in the Bay Area, but mobile. Willing to drive down to SoCal for a week. |

the only problem is it may take longer than a week, Rob is a great instuctor and will do you well, mission soaring center (Pat Deneven) is close by and will do you well also, he can do tows and make the process go faster, _________________ Explore nature from the eyes of an Eagle |

A week for a hang 2 rating is a very short amount of time. _________________ Mountains always have the right of way.

Bay Area Hang Gliding just opened a new hang gliding shop in Fremont Ca. Eric and Robert are two of the best Instructors around and they actually fly hang gliders on their days off. They teach on weekdays and they will give you a free $325 Tandem Fight when you sign up for a lesson package.
Attention pilots...please...stop sucking!
