| Just heard of a pilot blowing his launch at Yosemite. Pilot was badly injured but is expected to survive. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. |

Terrible to hear that. Fortunate that he will survive but I'm sure he has a painful road ahead.
Out of curiosity, where is the nearest trauma center or hospital to Glacier point? _________________ Mountains always have the right of way.

| So- this is all private correspondence on a public forum; curious that ya'll would disdain e-mail if you didn't want interest from the greater flying community. |

Yikes,
We've got some Crestliners up there this weekend. Hope he's stable and recovering.
Nearest trauma center is probably a helo ride down to Fresno, unless Oakhurst has one now. |

It was his second or third flight on his new WW Sport2 155. A eye witness said he launch noise high and mushed off and clip a tree. He had a Sport2 before this one, he all so has flown Yosemite many times before. Our best wishes go out to him!

It was Dan Venamen. I just got back from the hospital. He is doing good. Anyone still want to have the full face/ half face helmet debate? _________________ Always a student.

And I have a message from Dan's wife, and I concur, that she was very appreciative of the pilots involved with the return of Dan's vehicle, glider and personal possessions. She wanted to say thank you. Dan will be fine. He has some injuries, but he will make it. He will be off work for a bit though. He is at Memorial Hospital south wing room 3321. Gotta call before entering his room. _________________ Always a student.
