Someone must contact this pilot, let him know what a dangerous influence this video will have on impressionable hang glider pilots- before they inevitably attempt to emulate trailer-trash landing. I know saying so will likely offend some, but I have no choice other than to voice my superior standards; though it will likely cost me in popularity, that is a price I gladly pay in service to the sport.

some "modern" HGs also got keel pockets, and there are even some present day pilots who use cocoons. however upon inspection of the glider, it appears to be a model from the late 80's.

I'm getting rid of my pod Z5 and going back to a cocoon because of issues with my ankle. I'll make somebody a heck of a deal on the Z5

Object fixation at its best. Good thing he has all that padding or he might have broke something besides his glider and pride

Looks like he was aiming for the backdoor.

Fortunately both downtubes broke instead of his arms.

Are you guys saying that's not a proper landing?

Any landing that you can waddle to the fridge and couch is a good landing, no?

Looks like he tried a "fly on the wall landing". He failed.

Hmmm.... were you watching it in POV from the saddle of your new Sport2? Is that why you're so reluctant to share photos with us? Laughing

I watched a guy careen into one of the cabins once. People sure can get stupid! He was trying to land close to the tow pavilion so he could tow again without walking too far. He ran out of altitude and had to stop turning sooner than planned... which happened to leave him pointing straight across the field toward the cabins. That's when target fixation took hold. Fortunately both his leading edges hit the porch posts stopping him short before he could face plant into the side of the building. He was fine, though his Eagle 164 was in need of 2 new leading edges.

Perhaps the most common reason for serious crashes at Lookout- wanting to land near the tow line. There's nothing like pulling dirt out of the helmet of somebody you like, packing up the wing while they get packed into an ambulance- all 'cuz they put a premium on convenience. The Earth cares not at all for your convenience.

well, to be positive:

he did not stall
he did not nose in
he did not groundloop
he did not eehm..

well, im sure most of his other landings are better.
