| I am learning to fly and at the point where I need my own glider. I am looking to get a Falcon3 170 and it makes sense to buy a used one but I don't see any for sale in classifieds and other sites. Should I bite the bullet and get a new one? |

If you fly it for 100 hours or so you will get good resale value if you keep it clean. You also might not ever give it up. Used is good too if you get a qualified person to check it out before you buy.
You don't see a lot for sale cause they fly great forever!

Why so few Falcon3s for sale? Maybe they are so good that people can sell them without advertising. If this is true, then why not buy new? You can get a warranty, plus you'll establish a relationship with your dealer than will be useful in the future. You may also be able to bargain for discounts on accessories if making a cash purchase. In a couple of years' time, if you ever decide to sell the Falcon3, then you should be able to do so with ease, provided that it is in good condition.
Also, there are hints of a Falcon4 coming out. If this is true, it will supress prices of new Falcon3s as dealers get ready for the replacement model. (Motorcycles are the same.)
A hang glider is life-support equipment, so don't try to reduce costs too much. After all, how much is your life worth? |

| Save up. Make payments. Get a new wing. There is alot going through your head on take off. A new glider eliminates a major concern. Preflight it, then concentrate on a good strong take off, You will never be sorry. |

It helps to put wanted classifieds on those websites. Brings potential sellers out of the woodwork. _________________ H4 (1979) Lake Elsinore. Ca. U2 160 (Sweet) |

Thanks for the link. Yeah, it's a bit too far, by the time I bring it back to MA it will cost more than new :-) |
