Surfing Vimeo and saw this one from Norway. Scary. Beautiful country, though.
Nice landing at the end. Now, don't make fun of his spelling unless you know Norwegian!

Watching this video made me feel like I was watching a guy in a simulator with a green screen in front of him.
He got super lucky and made the right choice at the right time to get out of there. |

Am I right or wrong, but you look like that your harness is high off the basebar.
Good landing after that crappy air. |

Green screen and high on the bar! My exact thoughts...
The rear shot looked like he was standing up in the cocoon.
Sweet landing.

Hi
First post.
Sorry about my English.
Yes, I was lucky.
A moment I thought I would end up in either the power lines or in the trees,
The sloping terrain also helped me out

Hi Jan,
Welcome to the forum
You did a great job of keeping as much control as you could and made the best of your situation.
Cheers, Jonathan |

Hi Jan,
I agree that the flight was a combination of skill and luck and perseverance.... it could happen to any of us. Do you and pilots in your area have any strategies for predicting shifting winds like that? Will you fly that site differently now, or does it feel like something that was nearly impossible to predict?
Thanks,
Brian |

Brian
Not sure if it could be predicted, but I should have been warned by the sink just before I got close to the mountain, and turned back,
I had perfectly good lift on the launch side of the valley.
Should have stayed there.
Had a flight in similar condition a couple of weeks ago, but without any rotor.
Approached the mountain with care that time
Maybe a wind streamer on the other side of the valley could have been helpful.
