Geez, the guy has a motor mouth full of complaints. Probably a habitual complainer when he's not working. _________________ H-4 (1976) UP Saturn 147 & UP Axis 13

oops.
I dropped the "F" bomb once. Long story, but basically the other guy wouldn't keep his mic close to his mouth. After 4 days of reminding him, I cracked. Told him I couldn't hear a F*#$%!&? word he was saying.... Departure control wasn't happy. It didn't occur to me until later that the controller might have thought I was talking to him.

One highly frustrated individual
Fortunately HG pilots don't appear to suffer from similar dilemma |

In my previous job I spent a lot of time in commercial jet cockpits listening to the pilots, and unfortunately most of them seem to think that they're primary job is to b**** and complain about everything under the sun. This Southwest guy ranting about gays seems especially bigoted, but non-stop complaints are the norm for airline pilots. |

And all you could do was listen, all the time thinking, "you know, I can write a program that does what you do, a**hole." |

I've tried to compose a nice, polite response but the best I can come up with is that you are simply full of crap. I'm not complaining, mind you, but simply stating a fact.
DC
btw, what constitutes "a lot" of time in cockpits? Doing what? Nobody spends "a lot" of time in airline cockpits unless they are airline pilots.

All he had to do was switch-hit and play for the other team while he was in Chi-Town and he was golden. Silly homophobe. |

PilotGuy used to work for a company that wrote software for aircraft simulators, so I suspect he did spend a fair bit of time in the company of airline pilots. |

I'm thinking that he THINKS he spent a lot of time in airliner cockpits. I KNOW that I have. Day in. Day out. Year after year after year. I have flown with probably hundreds of other pilots over the years and my real life experience is the exact opposite of the PilotGuy version. He makes it sound like he has the "insider" perspective but, uh , no. He's just spinning fiction to an audience who has no idea of what takes place up front. Sorry to be so blunt.
Yes, it kinda bugs me when people make stuff up about my profession. We have worked long and hard to get where we are and the folks who I have the pleasure of flying with enjoy doing what they do.
Over and out. |

I guess that's why Pilotguy now spends his time in spaceship cockpits ;) _________________ Real freedom lies in wildness, not in civilization.
