ADVICE: This video is long and boring, I did not cut the flight because it's mainly for my father, who grew up in the region and has the time to just look at the cool scenery. Thought I'd just post it here as well...
I used classical music as background (Beethoven piano concertos), as adviced here, it fits quite cool. At the end, a PG was floating around over the LZ so I had to land cross-wind, which ended in a whack. right wing got lifted and base bar digged in the ground. Looks worse than it was, as the Gopro got tilted by the hit.
I still have my problem of not steering with my butt, but I'm working on it... any comments welcome!
There were some, you see them at the LZ when I'm approaching. (luckily it was not only me getting bombed out).
But in general, here in switzerland, the sky is dominated mostly by PG's. People like the easiness of getting a ride up or using public transportation or cable cars (we have lots of them in our mountains) against the beauty of the HG flight...
Still, there are some, and there are two aussies in Interlaken giving HG tandems to tourists, they are quite fun guys and allways ready to give a hand - it's alrways fun to meet them at the LZ.
That was great escapism for me- thanks for sharing.

I wasn't there- but I've heard this before; PGs float around- that's what they do -and they sometimes manage to reach a designated LZ to land. No surprises there. There's a disconnect for me at the phrase "had to".
Do you think there were approach choices that could have transformed "had to" to "able to"?
Which was a greater contributor to the whack- the cross wind... or the low turn, late transition, and yaw?

aehm: The PG? Not, really, by fixating my attention to what he was doing, I did pretty much everything else wrong! I do have the tendency of making my last turn way too low/late, though... but after all it was the cross wind which bothered me the most, as I pushed out the right wing went way high.
is that the Matterhorn off in the distance to the right?
Nope, the big mountains are: The darker one in the right is the famous north face of the Eiger, next to it is the "Mönch" (Monk) and next to it the "Jungfrau" (Virgin).
*snip* but after all it was the cross wind which bothered me the most, as I pushed out the right wing went way high.
It all adds up though, right? Check out the moment before you flared- it seemed that your wings weren't level (could just be the camera angle). The grass was really dancing- how fast would you say the wind was?
