| Like, now, is a great example: I'm focused on this Peanut, when I should be focused on important maters- where I want to go, navel lint... pretty much anything else.

My boss works part time at Laguna Seca teaching guys how to not wreck their very expensive cars. One of the basic lessons he teaches is "Don't look at the wall. If you look at it, you will hit it. Look where you want to go."
Apparently some things are universal.

| ever watch those videos of little kids learning to ride their bike? they'll go out of their way to find something to run into. also, the more expensive something is, the more likely it'll get landed on...

paulroys,
To avoid hitting the tree, do not look at the tree. You want to land in the middle of that big unobstructed field, so look at the middle of the field, instead.
I am not in favor of "radio controlled" HG pilots, where the HG instructor calls for every turn, but this is one place where a very few words can make a real difference, on a radio. "Look at the target spot."
