#1 |
Please support this cause, This is the young women that died hang gliding in a Hang Gliding Tandem accident in Canada, a trust fund has been set up in her name.........I call on the Hang Gliding Community to step up to the plate and support this cause
(a number of Lenami’s close friends and family) have set up this memorial fund.
In her life, Lenami shared her desired to establish an award that would positively impact Mexican women. In honor of her passion and our love for her, we’ve worked to set up an award at Simon Fraser University.
Our goal is to raise over $20,000 initially. This will allow Lena’s memorial award to continue each year. We have so far raised 1/4 of the funds we need to create the endowment.Remembering Lena | Here to share and remember Lenami Godinez-Avila

Thanks but I am only the messenger, I didnt know her, I just think it is the right thing to do, I have noticed that when this kind of thing happens in hang gliding, people tend to live in denial and not take responsibly for the fallout and suffering. I choose not to do that. As a hang gliding professional, I feel like we must address the human cost of injury and death to our community and our sport. and take responsibility,we need to support this cause and embrace the family _________________ Building Gliders in San Diego at our new factory

$20,000. wow. I too wish this as good an outcome as can be.
I was a bit timid with my post asking for donations for Dave Dunning because of similar posts asking the same but Dave is one of us. Not on the org but a 35+ year awesome hg pilot that as he put it " I f d up ". So far he has received just $145.00 to his paypal account from the pilot community but I don't blame or point fingers because we all have things we need to do and we can't help everyone every time something comes up. thecbf / crashing pilots / whatever the cause we help who we can when we can.
Good luck and well wishes to her family in keeping her memory alive. |

I haven't flown woodside for over 10 years, but I've had calls and messages from all over the world (I fly in BC)
many folks were asking how they could somehow help, Ted (windgypsy) is one of these fine pilots wishing to help. I sent him the link
thanks, everyone, its nice to know of all the good vibes worldwide.
good on ya... |
