#1 |
I was contacted by Dave Cronk and he is on the hunt for a vintage Quicksilver hang glider that is in good enough shape to put on display in the Smithsonion. If anybody has any leads or would like to see their vintage wing put to historical use IN A BIG WAY, please get back to me .even if the glider needs restored, it can still be of use. This would be a real cool way for an old glider to be recognized and put out there for the world to see !
Thanks, Scott Campbell. ezriser72@aol.com |

Also looking for early powered version ? weight shift ,or MX with a yoke style control system. Amazing how many people are still flying them, hard to find someone that is done with 'em. |

Sorry, can't help you, but way back in the day, one of my local pilots, "Lauren Culp sp (a guy)" flew a Quicksilver.
He hated it because he always needed a tail man to help him launch, and even then, we still flew rings around him in our flexies. _________________ Back in the Day ('77-'90)

Yeah, between 77-90 the Quicksilver was being used for other things,,it was out dated as a hang glider by then.
Although it 's eveloution into powered flight brought that design through 4 decades. Very few people, other than people that flew back then even fly any of the "old flexi's" these day's. I too have some old classics I like to fly now and again. But the Quicksilver is by far one of the safest and stable gliders out of the bunch. Great for places like Torrey Pines or Funston.
