Well, Stoub, 'ol boy - thanks for dissing everyone here on the .ORG by running off with your piece. Frankly, I don't see the attraction - the mag has so little to do with us that I just wish it would go through it's final death-spasms and expire, like other print media. As it is, the thing reads like a PG-gear catalogue.
I hope you and the mag are very happy together...

No disrespect intended towards anyone on this site by pulling the post. Let me explain.
I was sent a PM from someone in my local area who thought it would make a great feature bit in a local magazine. They convinced me that it could help generate more interest in the sport. They thought that what I wrote, if mixed with some good pictures, and some serious corrections to my punctuation, may spark someone's interest. I know nothing about publishing or the rules, but I guess they won't take stuff if it has already been on the internet.
I am sincerly humbled by the comments left here on this site. I honestly thought it would just slip away into the forum back pages. I have no intention of sending it to a paragliding magazine.
Thank you again for the kind comments, I would not have even attempted to put my writing out here if I didn't feel the sense of community I do feel on this amazing forum. |

The really moving and emotional story that you'll never read because he wrote it on rice paper and it rained and the paper dissolved and now it's gone forever never to be told again. |
