As a non believer I agree with all what you guys have said in the previous posts.
However I don't have strong opinions against believers except when they try to impose their beliefs on the rest of the population, which unfortunately happen too often. I certainly do not think that being a believer makes people dumb and I do recognize that believing in general can be a powerful incentive to move forward or getting out of a difficult situation.
I also find amusing when bright people such as Richard Dawkins waste his time trying to "prove" that God does not exist. By the title of his book "The God Delusion" you would think that he is set to prove scientifically that God does not exist. Reading the book you realize that of course he fails to prove this hypothesis as you can't scientifically prove or disprove a hypothesis for what there is absolutely no way to get evidence for (i.e. the scientific method cannot be applied). To be fair most of his gripes are against the beliefs of organized religion such as taking ancient books as factual evidence for anything. |

| Well I'm impressed that this topic even exists. I've been on both sides of the debate so though it kind of bums me out to see the misunderstanding I can relate. It is so common to view God as the cosmic kill-joy but the reality is just the opposite. I personally believe that God is pleased as he sees his creation (us) creatively enjoying the world he created (for us) as we soar the skies. I'd love to have the opportunity to answer questions that people have concerning Christianity. It's every persons right to accept or reject God's free gift of his Son but its tragic when that decision is made based on false information. |

I recently panned a SciFi book on Amazon's review facility.
It's supposedly a SciFi story, but it's really a new-age Christian thing...can't quite classify it.
It is TERRIBLE as a Sci Fi story but of course, I've been set upon by the Friends of All Things Jesus.
Event Horizon...avoid like the plague _________________ "We should all have our heads examined"
