We had planned to come up there Thursday thru Sunday. Do you all think it's still gonna happen with these forecasts calling for rain all day, every day?
I left Sunday evening but I'd say 65% of the camping spots at Larry and Tiff's were still WIDE open. This is Villa. Wide open spaces and plenty of camping.
The food vendors were serving up great food, including natural home made ice cream and waiting for people to stop by.
But I digress, you can camp a zillion places in the valley as well as party central, but there are soaring windows that open up for the taking.
You just need to be there, and be ready to fly. If we don't get more HGs out there the PGs are going to swarm in. Took one ride up in Veeger's truck with only 4 HGs and 7 PGs going back up to launch.
But if you want to wait and think then stay home and I'll have more options for when to launch. _________________ jj

keep in mind this is just one class of gliders and just a few of the people flying are bothering with submitting flights for the competition. Fitzpatrick posts up three flights, including one for 5 hours today.
arrrrgh.
And for the weather weenies, today's forecast looked like fertilizer. _________________ jj

WOW, what an incredible week! 9 days of flying, 130 pilots, 7 live performances, 40 ish cases of beer, 5 cases of booze, hundreds of smiling faces... and so much more. I think it's safe to say Fly Week was a smashing success!
If you missed it, well......i'm terribly sorry for you. And if we are crazy enough to do it again, you will be wise to make it happen..
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that my stepson and his film crew shot tons of footage all week long, and they will be putting together THE coolest fly-in video ever. It will be approx somewhere between 8 - 12 minutes long and will highlight some fantastic video footage shot by both the film crew and pilots with their go-pro cameras.
If you are interested in purchasing one of these DVDs (not exactly sure when they will be ready), they will cost you 10 bucks, plus 3 for me to ship it to you. To express interest, please email me directly...

thanks to everybody who attended, helped out and contributed to the perma-smile on my face all week! It was a lot of hard work and terribly long days, but I wouldn't change a thing....we had a blast!!
Nice vid Timo.
I can see from your fly week postings you managed to get a few flights in during the week.
Any time you're out here just let us know. E-Ville gang rocked. But your scouting crew (Tom) was a pretty good tip off for what to expect. See ya around, and set aside some time for the 2014 event. _________________ jj

Larry and Tiffany were honored at the USHPA awards banquet last night for everything that they did to make the fly-in a great success! Just to recap, hundred mile flights, tons of personal bests, catered food every day, a full fledged bar in the LZ staffed with gorgeous women, a stage with belly dancers, 3 bands and a burlesque show. All capped off with a fly-over of F-16s on the 4th of July!
Here's a teaser for the short documentary that their son, Ross, is working on!
