Here in New England the weather has been crap for a wile, I haven't flown in well over a mouth. And of course it looks good for Thanksgiving day, $!>< is already sending me texts that we should go.

My wife and I always have family over, anywhere from 6 to 16 people. wile we are cleaning the house I mention to my wife that it looks flyable tomorrow and she says "You should go " After I got my mouth up off the floor I ran up here and started typing

Now I can usually smell a setup a mile away. But maybe this time she just wants me to be happy, Maybe it's not a test. who knows when it will be good again. I just don't know what to do. Any input would help. Thanks

Be home in time for dinner, help her out where ever you can before you leave, dont waste a second getting back home and enjoy your flight.
Make it up on a rainy day by doing something nice for her alone and dont forget to thank her for all she does.

Dont know if it is the pilot or the woman in me that is answering ;-)

Ask to meet the new boyfriend...?

Laughing

Seriously, she probably wants you out of the house while she preps and IN the house to do the dishes after. Sounds like a fair deal to me, if it's soarable.

And yeah, do NOT be late for dinner. Be early.

The pilot IS the woman. Grow a set you wuss. Tell your wife you are going flying and expect to have your turkey dinner waiting for you when you get home. Like I did. Razz

(JK)

My wife is running in a race tomorrow morning so if she can do that, I can go flying. We are both planning to spend a nice quiet evening tomorrow night having turkey. No relatives invited. Ahh.....can't wait.

The only thing that can't ruin my evil plan is good ole reliable crap weather. I expect to wake up to east winds and rain. Crying or Very sad

There's only one Thanksgiving per year (unless you hop up north in October). There are plenty of flying days during the year. If you put Turkey in front of flying you'll score points with the Mrs. - in the long run that will make flying all the more special.

Congratulations! your relationship survived to the point that the wife is resigned to the fact that flying is a part of your life and that you're more fun to be around after you have flown (instead of being mentally gone if you stay at home).

The chick/egg thing about this is that you may now be more willing to skip marginal days from now on, knowing that you can go when its good w/o worrying it affecting your relationship.

its not going to be on the west side of the cascades,

Windy. Periods of light rain in the afternoon. High 44F. Winds SSE at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

so it looks like i'll be adding to my lbs. per square ft./ wing load,,, lol

Well, it was crap weather for flying here, so I was free to cook a 20 pound turkey for 30 guests without thinking too much about the sky... I was truly thankful for that.

Wow, all that food, all that marshmallow, fuk yeah America!! The turkey was perfect, not bad for a first-timer.

While there is a bitter irony to the origins of Thanksgiving, it sure is nice to give thanks Smile

Kermit stayed home and did the dishes like a good boy. He only missed a sled ride though.

i tried to make are thanks giving's an adventure, rock climbing, Rapelling or what ever, but the old fashion, it's all about the food won over, now that our children are all married we trade off, one year it's all about the adventure, the other it's all about food,

i think food just gets in the way of having fun, think about all the work that goes into it, but my wife willingly and lovingly prepares, i love to take her away on some adventure and take her out for her thanks giving

with that said, she would rather me help with the food, dishes, or what ever, sit around and watch TV with a gut ache, because we all ate to much Laughing

so i agree Carm ! nice brownie points !
