As the late great George Carlin said..... your vote doesnt matter.
The government is bought and paid for.

Considering the following video below, its pretty obvious the people who really run the show will never allow Ron Paul a real chance to win. Both sides are trying to bury him.

Thats probably reason enough to vote for the guy Laughing

because no one in the media will actually put him on stage. in 08 numerous times in the debates he hand Julie and McCain their asses..... just by telling the simple truth...and got cruxified for it

he's too honest for the republicans to take him seriously- hell he's probably the only politician i have ever seen that is honest

The media and elected politicians are owned by the same people.

Honesty doesn't win in a 'Who lies best: Wins' political competition.

The same company that makes electronic voting machines are the same company who makes ATM machines for the banks. Coincidence? I think NOT! More like Coin incident. Bought and paid for...

Paul is as responsible for how others perceive them as the negative media is.

He has the opportunity to run and express his ideas, many of which i agree with, but that said he does get to rewrite the election process and the idea of electing officials means that the guy who wins has been able to reach across at least a few different groups. Paul is not willing to do that, he only choose to represent the small fraction of followers that buy into his very different politics.

Example ....I don't like wasting my money on weapons and war yet I also believe that the world is a street and you must defend you turf. Today that means hitting the guy who intends harm before he can hit you. So for me ....I just don't want to wait until the enemy's country is at my boarder well armed, I want to take them out before they get out of bed in their own house.

Also I just don't think abolishing the federal reserve is practical ....we are already in too far and we need to deal with were we are now not back in the early 1900's

Now this is just my thoughts and no one needs to buy into them but I said this as an example that with Paul its exactly my way or the highway and our form of government just doesn't work this way.

It is true that the media places more emphasis on his extreme positions and not the reasonable ones but that is what the media does to everyone.

Just my take

Dennis

I'm not a Ron Paul fan or a hater, but if you want to be pissed off about how media handles the topic look here:

http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/2011/08/16/elections

Quote:
But coverage of these presidential campaigns has even more pernicious effects than mere distraction. They are also vital in bolstering orthodoxies and narrowing the range of permitted views. Few episodes demonstrate how that works better than the current disappearing of Ron Paul, all but an "unperson" in Orwellian terms.

If you want to know the real deal in U.S. politics read Glenn Greenwald. There are other good sources but he's the best.

It's sweet to see this. RP is a voice of fresh air and I say that mainly because of his emphasis and thoughtful commentary on the constitution. He seems consistent in his positions- particularly in the general idea that the constitution places limits on the federal government, and those are forgotten/ignored more and more by the federal government. Our deficit and prospects of inflation are pretty scary.

There is certainly a need for a purist to remind us what our roots and principles are. RP does this the best. When I was a kid I was a great admirer of William F Buckley Jr. a founding member of the modern conservative party movement. He was a bit of a RP in his day. Small government, integrity of constitutional values etc. He was more aggressive on the defense side of things reflecting cold war policy of the day.

I see this as a key election time because the young voters of 2008 are a little older and understand the huge debt that they are going to pay for their entire lives.

What i just don't understand is the seemingly spend more, open boarder mentality of California. At what point does the enormous economy of CA begin to collapse from its own debt? If I owned property there i would be greatly concerned.

Dennis

I love it coming from a guy that wants to spend huge amounts of tax dollars while he moves around in a trailer Misguided is thinking you can spend your way to prosperity when you are a service /consumption based economy....BTW Great job at Big Spring....making us old guys proud and for those of you that don't follow you should read about the racing that went on out there! Mr. Green

This is exactly what the media is doing.

Ooooh HIM.... roll eyes... smirk..... then talk about the "real" candidates.

They all have said silly crap. But RP gets special treatment by the media.
You cannot win without the media subsidizing you millions of dollars in free advertising.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-10-craziest-michele-bachmann-quotes
Why isnt the media ignoring Bachmann? She has said whacky things too.

Why is she taken seriously and not RP?
