Finally, I have something to celebrate - I finally got my H2 from lookout mountain.

Thanks to Dan, Mike, Lauren, Scott, Jason and other instructors from LMFP who were so patient with me. You guys are great!
Here is my first mountain launch video.
Please disregard the burst of emotions during the flight and at the end. Also, my helmet cam kind of rolled down during start.
PS:For these who are interested - I'm screaming "I'm flying I'm flying. Hello sky!". Something like that.

Dude! Nice! That was great... your enthusiasm is off the charts. Man what a great flight!
Do you all think he was happy after he landed? I don't know, let's check out the evidence....

There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. … Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, which presents the difficulties. ~~~Douglas Adams |

That is where I did my first Flight... I'll always remember when I launched and made that initial howl of Joy...

Ohh! Thank you so much for all your cheers!
Yeah, I was quite emotional there... it felt like nothing else. I was waiting for this moment for over 6 years or something. Initially I was dragged into HG in my home country - Ukraine. After introductory experience as a passenger on moto HG, I totally loved it - it felt like nothing else. I purchased some old-as-this-world former USSR hangglider. We had quite a romance with it. (Somehow I managed to fly it couple of times without possessing any skills. :-) )Then, I had to stop my HG learning - family, work, etc. Anyway, 6 yrs passed and I was dreaming about this moment all the way.
And finally I got there!!! It felt like nothing else in the world.
And again, big cheers to LMFP - now I have some skills to do it :-) And this time nothing will stop me from doing it :-)!

Those last few seconds of that video need to be IN something positive about the joy of one's first flight!
Congrats Yuri.

That was excellent, Yuri! The look on your face at the end captures the elation we all feel on that first flight. I too, learned at LMFP.
Also, welcome to the Org, my friend. Now go get some more airtime and bring us back the video.

Congrats.
Remember that we are all still learning and keep that in your mind for all future flights.
In the mean time, enjoy the feeling and pass it along.

| Yap, I did my third flight yesterday and used that grapevine grip instead of bottle grip. It felt kind of more convenient for mountain launches - I had better control of the glider during start.
