#1 |
I don't know just how to reply to HQ in a way that will get through their thick heads. The fact that they even spent my money to send a letter about a recall effort against Bob K. shows me just how skewed the thinking is in that office. All couched in legalese and references to SOP, and totally without a signature. Just means NO F#%*#'n BALLS in the whole bunch to me. Quoting Lincoln or Jefferson regarding "government no longer serving the needs of the people" is probably going to elude them, as they continually exhibit a lack of depth or compassion one could reasonably expect from people with some degree of education/culture. Sad little tyrants that they are, only direct pressure upon their illusionary world may suffice in the long run. If revolution was acceptable to Lincoln and Jefferson, it's good enough for this membership. Should the opportunity arise to do some of them a disservice, I may find myself unable to resist the temptation. I doubt that I am alone in this view. In the meantime, Bob K. gets my vote against the recall.

The first thing we can do as Region 3 pilots is send in our nomination forms for Bob.

Region 3 pilots are resposible for the letter and recall not USHPA. The office is responding to the members not directing them. Even if you think USHPA has problems in the office you can't blame them for all the problems in Region 3.

Exactly. Now the region 3 pilots need to not waste any time blaming the USHPA and get busy voting against the recall.

Well, the USHPA EC's professionalism toward Bob has been questionable, but this was brought on by paraglider pilots in San Diego (and a few hang pilots) who just don't like Bob and have been pursuing this since he got elected.
The best way to stick it to them is to make sure your Region 3 friends vote down the recall.

The only good thing about this whole issue is that it has shown that the USHPA does have to act in accordance with the SOP's. All it takes is the effort of enough concerned members. Definately something to remember when real issues are involved instead of this crap spewed out by the whining bunch of PG's who started the mess.

I think this might actually create more interest in Region 3 politics and back fire on the" Recall Bob GOONS"!

Allright region 3. Get off your collective behinds and nip this in the bud. Show the home office who is in control. let them know that they are .

What is going on? did they get the signatures to force a recall vote, or are they sending out letters trying to get signatures to force the vote?

Erik, the letter says there is a recall campaign in progress and to submit nominations for a replacement should Bob be recalled. And it is possible to nominate Bob

Would someone mind posing the letter?

Sky-pilot: So they are soliciting nominations, due to the possibility he may be recalled?
I guess Bill H. will have to accept his nomination soon, and soon he won't have the "I'm not a candidate, leave me alone" excuse to hide behind.

WAIT WAIT WAAAAAAIT a sec....
If you read the letter it clearly shows they DO NOT currently have enough signatures to initiate a recall vote.
Now the question is, is it part of the USHPA SOP's to send a letter out notifying everyone about the need for more signatures to make a recall vote happen???
Because if its not.... oh man....

I may have misread..... I thought it implied it.
It says "There has been a recall campaigned initiated...."
And I thought, so what? In other words, you dont have enough sigs...
But then it said.... "The executive committee has set a special election..."
So I assume the election WILL take place, BECAUSE they got enough signatures. Is that right?
Well.... id like to see the signature list then. I have trust issues

| If revolution was acceptable to Lincoln |
Well, unless I'm grossly misinformed, President Lincoln squashed a revolt.
Not that that's in any way relevant to this issue.
Regarding the letter, it refers to a slated recall election. That would imply the petitioners satisfied all their requirements. When it says "if" he is recalled, it refers to the recall election (actually a de-election,) not to the petition for recall.
The nominees are solicited for an election IF the recall election succeeds. You can't unseat an RD armed only with a petition full of signatures.
