Mrx - yet another great video and I liked the music in this one. Because I am always on the lookout for "Promoting Hang Gliding" videos - this one is perfect. _________________ Wingless

So that's why there was this warm, fuzzy feeling pervading my whole being and filling my soul with such overflowing joy... perhap it wasn't the video at all but the music! Thanks for the info, I'm going to use the music for some of my other crappy videos and see if it works! _________________ Wingless

Nice picture and nice music, but can anyone tell me why my computer plays it with a frame rate of about 1fps and the sound gets way ahead of the picture - even when I download the whole video before playing it? This is a problem for a lot of HD videos for me - sometimes not as bad as this but usually the frame rate will be variable leading to a jerky appearance. I upgraded my computer last year to supposedly, at the time, the best video graphics card, the fastest HDD etc - allegedy state of the art for multimedia. It's much less of a problem for the standard def You Tube videos.
You mentioned the Pinnacle software for editing. I have Pinnacle Studio 8 and it has never successfully burnt a DVD. The rendering speed for DV quality is glacial (though much faster for lower quality), even for the standard def videos I do now. If you want to render a 30 minute video, might as well set it to run overnight since that's how long it'll take, and then wake up in the morning to find that it hasn't written to the DVD anyway. I assume your Pinnacle Pro 14 is far better, though I suspect it would be lots of $$$$$$$$$$?
I hope these Qs aren't too . I'm thinking about these things a lot since I'm about to get my first HD camera, though I've still only got a SD TV. Can anyone recommend editing software that will convert HD to SD, or convert SD to the HD format so footage from both can be edited into the same video etc, and doesn't take too long to render, and will export to a variety of formats and aspect ratios without distortion? Very interested if so. _________________ N.B. If there is an ad immediately below here, it is completely random and not associated with me, or endorsed by me, in any way whatsoever |

A month or so ago I posted a message about the possibly of using entries to the Banff Mountain Film Festival as a vehicle for promoting HG but it apparently it went unnoticed - http://www.hanggliding.org/viewtopic.php?t=14927&highlight=. There are almost always PG films there but I have yet to see HG featured. This year's list of films on the World Tour is no exception, and features film about a tandem PG flight around the Karakoram http://www.banffcentre.ca/mountainculture/tour/films/#birdman_karakoram |

The deed is done - ordered my GoPro today - along with a tube bracket mounting thingy
It will ship soon - don't know how soon - but how cool would it be to get some on-board footage of some of my training flights _________________ N.B. If there is an ad immediately below here, it is completely random and not associated with me, or endorsed by me, in any way whatsoever |
