OMG I hate jumping choulla. It's the worst. They otta get rid of it entirley. Those damm things fall on the ground and the wind blows them for miles. You can be walking around in a sandy area with no cactus at all and suddenly your sandal is pinned to your foot. And those spines don't come out. They have barbs so they break off. If you ever fly Mt. Laguna, you will eventually have first hand experiance.
When you fly Laguna you just need to remember that anything green you see on the ground below you is bad. It is also helpful to carry a pair of tweezers just in case you or anyone you're flying with meets one of the little fuzzy plants when they land.

This is not a Hang Glider. It's a bunch of Hang Glider parts flying in a tight formation!
years back we'uns wuz flying a desert site, sandia, i think, and one of the guys realized that a cactus had run out in front of him just as he was getting ready to land. he picked up his legs and tried to "carry a flare" over this rogue plant. the teddy bear bit him in the end. get out the pliers.
the ones that scare the bejezus out of me is occatilla. i think this mutha can cut the skin on your truck door.
