Here is the little bit of video I got of our BBQ on Saturday before my battery went flat. I had already taken over an hour of video of my flight up and down the coast that day, passing Ian9toes down near Bulli on his way back to Stanwell. I am glad we could turn on a good day for you again Ian.
Sorry the tags don't work for Youtube from Australia, so there is just the link.
Nice video, relate2. While we suffer winter here in the north east USA, it's nice* to see some post flying summer fun from the land down under. If I could snap my fingers and pop down to Australia, that's the type of flying day I'd love to experience.
Too bad your batteries failed you - and just as the PGs headed in.
* Actually I lying. I'm damn jealous. The morning of your BBQ it was 10 F (-12 C) here in central NYS. And I haven't flown in a couple months. The most exciting possibility for up coming flying is an opportunity to do some scooter towing at a near by frozen lake. The fact that that sounds exciting makes me wonder, . . . am I going ? _________________ WW 141 Fusion SP

Thanks wingspan34, man that is cold 10 F (-12 C) we had 109 F (43 C) the other day in Sydney, pretty normal for at least a couple of days during Jan/Feb each year.
We have a very good relationship between Paras & Hangies at Stanwell. We have a lot of older pilots on both sides who just want to fly and enjoy the sky together.
Just a note for other pilots taking photos with their video cameras, this is the first time I have included photos with my videos. The 16:9 ratio photos fit so much better with the videos even though they are of smaller in megapixels. My 16:9 photos are 3.5mp and my 4:3 photos are up to 8mp. The 8mp photos may be better for printing enlargements but not that much better for videos. _________________ Sonic 165

What a day that was, Stanwell really turned it on. You forgot to mention the 2 and a half grand we were all getting, not bad for a coastal site
Rob, here is your vid embedded, you just need to get rid of the au and put www instead, and put it in between the youtube buttons of course. SG put me on to that. If you click on the "QUOTE" button on my post you can see exactly what I did.
Great thanks for that Ian, it was a bummer just having the link to the videos.
Yes I forgot to mention the two and a half grand some of the pilots later in the day got over three grand. One pilot in a topless left the coast at around 3 grand flew 2 kilometres out to sea and only dropped 150 feet, it was a pumping day.
You are so right Dave, there is nothing as good as sharing a great flight and good food with friends at the end of the day.
I have just uploaded the video to Vimeo for the local pilots to download the original video if they want, it is processing at the moment. I will edit this post and insert the link when it is done.
EDIT====> OK for the local pilots who want an original version of the video here is a link to the Vimeo version. Down the bottom right of the page there is a link to the original video I uploaded to Vimeo.
I will have to remember next time also to use my mono-pod, I didn't realise how jerky my videoing is when hand held. One of the little problems with the HD1010 which only has electronic image stabilisation.
