Anyone know of any adhesive that will bond two pieces of Dacron reasonably?
I've tried most of the Super Glues etc. with generally poor results. Sticky back dacron sticks reasonably well, but usually the colors are not matched.

I saw a guy use ShoeGuu
its pliable which is good, and worked quite well for small tears
but may not be the best for all repairs

Dacron is a tough case for glue. Sailmakers do glue (structurally), but with either heat, pressure, or both (i.e. Polyant's Ultra-Bond system). Needs expensive tools.
One option is seam seal, sold in little tubes at a camping store. Or you can try a seam tape, such as 3M 9485.
I always use Insignia tape.

I'm not sure I've seen it used for Dacron, but LMFP uses insignia tape for sail repairs. A piece on each side makes a substantial repair.

Insignia is sticky-back Dacron, meant for Dacron sail.

When I did a repair I was able to get a small patch from the hang glider distributor. It was a perfect color match. However, he told me the trick to sticking it is to:
1. (obviously) make sure the surface is clean.
2. Warm it with a hair drier as this allows the adhesive to bond better (and he was right!).
Hope that helps a little.
Did someone mention Super Glue? Doesn't that get really hot when setting? I wouldn't advise that

3. Cut the patch to be circular, oval, or if it's square at least round the edges... anywhere there's a corner it will peal up over time... round = no corners, and will stay much better!
WW has clear tape for covering scuffs etc, or sticky-back material for larger areas. You're right, not all the sticky-back colors match up, but some do... Also, sometimes it's easier to SEW a piece of color-matching sail cloth on than you might think...

3m 777 adhesive. It has worked very well for me, for many years. Any hardware store should have it.
