What's your point? Other than to bash PG?
Don't you have anything better to do?
Jim

A guy posts a video of a bad PG collapse with no additional comments, and you immediately jump to the conclusion that this is PG bashing?

This reminds of the double standard that exists with race relations.

There was no bashing in the post, at all. But we immediately get this typical overly hypersensitive reaction and victim playing.

When talking to people about HG, if I point out the advantages of HG's, its immediately called bashing. If you point out how portable PG's are, well, thats just cool Rolling Eyes They are not labelled bashers for this.

Its literally IMPOSSIBLE to talk about the advantages HG's have over PG's without someone calling you a basher and I think that highlights the problem and double standard quite well.

Personally, im sick of the double standard. I will proudly tell people that HG's are faster, have better glide, better sink rates, and yes, they dont collapse, one less thing you have to worry about, and its not bashing. Its not different than PG pilots telling people how much easier is to store a PG than a HG.

I think ill stand around at Torrey one day, and the moment anyone tells a spectator how PG's are easier to learn than HG's or easier to store, im going immediately break out in tears and start yelling at the guy and tell him he is just an evil bad bad HG basher ROFL

*ugh*

ZACTLY my point SG.
I figure as soon as you starting to worry and get yer nose,s all outta joint about this stuff, well maybe you r just taking yerselves too seriously.
In the end,,,, who really gives a flying f--k what anyone flies?
We are all crazy anyways,,,,,,,,, right?
And we take great pride in being so.
Ain,t anyone out there that ain,t just a little bit proud of the fact that they have the Kahunas to huck themselves off mountains and live to tell the story.

C,mon ya whackos,
Admit it, we are all just a wee bit over the edge on what gets us stoked.
Compared to the NORM, like, a couple of thousand pilots, PG and HG out of 35 million people in Canada?
And happy I am that I,m not " NORMAL ".
So,, how anyone can actually look at one sport versus the other, has no real solid grip in reality and should be given a wide berth.
In a way, I understand Rooney man,s hypersensitivity about these issues.
If ya really look at it tho, were all just abit over the edge and not to be trusted by anyone claiming to be NORMAL.
hUH????? wHATCHA ALL THINK BOUT THAT.LOL

As I discovered it is indeed strong stuff. I wiped out after diiner party of some neighbors at my house with just a couple drinks ahh They never knew what hit them.

As for the PG PC police, it seems to feed the very effeminate weakling image of the wing itself. When you show up at a Harley event with a moped it just doesn't fit that "rugged adventureist" mentality if you know what I mean.

From what I read Jim, you seem to be to tough a guy to fall into the usual image of a Kiwi Pger Mr. Green

hey Did you ever see how they take off, looks like a guy running from an anal attack in prison ROFL ROFL ROFL Stir the pot

Cheers,

Dennis

Slightly psychotic, with just a dash of bipolar disorder. Keeps it nice and unreal.

Not really listening are you?

There were at least three posts by the same guy on the front page at the same time.

This one, a crash and reserve deployments (which happen to be at an acro comp, but no mention). So no, I'm not b*tching about a single post and jumping to conclusions.

Go back and reread my posts if you don't believe me... I've pointed this out multiple times.

Jim

Jim, im going to give you a pass here, because I dont think you have been here long enough to know AP is by no means a PG basher.

Read this older post of his and tell me if you still think he was bashing or just posting some interesting vids he came across.

Jim, check you pm's.

I saw a hillarious paraglider launch video. The pilot was OK, not hurt in anyway and the instructor was up him for the rent. This video was originally posted for all to see the fun, by the PG school, in Seattle! Christ, if they can see the funny side what is your problem!!! The video was both illustrative and funny so I wanted to share thinking people here would see the funny side. As happens on youtube the links provided were on the same subject, I posted these two others as well.

Does this constitute 'being at it all night'? WTF???

FYI I post both HG and PG screw-ups but only if pilot is not hurt, the video is funny and or illustrative. Here is a HG example I posted 10 days ago
http://www.hanggliding.org/viewtopic.php?t=6303&start=0

Many of my mates fly PG. I fly regularly with PGs. I don't give a s*** if you fly a PG or a HG. Both styles are foot launched soaring which makes them awesome in my book.

Anyone who doubts this please don't prolong your misunderstanding. It will avoid future agro, I hope.

You mean, the view of the FNG.

I KEEEEED

It's good to have you on the board, Jim. Your experience and specific experiences will be of great benefit to us.

If you think PGs get abused, wait till they get going on Davis. I'm his defender round here.

Oops, I just said his name.

Actually, Jim,

On that front, hanggliding.org is pretty good.

I connected with D by D here before the hill, and he and I with other new peeps in the same way.

SG doesn't allow flames and treats a flame on one of us like a flame on him, except he's probably more tolerant of flames on him than us.

That having been said, there are a few topics where you don't have to be sunshine and roses.

Yeah, I'd noticed that. Quite refreshing.
Sorry if I have a knee jerk reaction to some stuff... I'm pretty used to wading around in very petty waters ;)
