Well done!

No playback issues on Windows Media player.

My family watched too. Looks good full screen. HD baby!

Thanks guys!

Years ago I went to Big Sur, stayed in the campsite right down the PCH, where the road to the launch meets the highway. (Sshhhh, secret place).
Set up, tested the camera, dressed up, send down the truck with wife and son.
I don't like IR remotes in HG, so I had a wired remote with extention cord. The connecting jack "happened to be" (stupid of me) on my shoulder level on the downtube...
You know what happened, don't you?
After landing I couldn't belive my eyes. The tape was blank. Only after I noticed the disconnected jack...
The fog moved in next morning and stayed there...

Hope to go back one day and finish the job...

If you saved the small .torrent file, you'll need a program like uTorrent to download the BIG file. Once you get the big file, windows media player, or some said quicktime player did a decent job.

You need a bit torrent client. I like utorrent, if your using windows:

http://download.utorrent.com/1.7.7/utorrent.exe

or if on a Mac or Linux, check out Transmission:

Dammit, Vrezh, I completely forgot to invite you. Forgive me, I would have loved to have seen that beautiful wing of yours over the Pacific.

That other campground, or which you speak, was the first one I stayed at in the area, back in '89. An A-6 Intruder flew by that weekend, *below* the cliffs. I warned the guys to keep an eye out, last weekend, for military jets. While we were grounded to clouds, I heard two F/A-18s fly by through the clouds. That's the biggest danger at an otherwise very placid site.

How did I know it was an F/A-18? I lived under the master Navy jet base for the East coast for 6 months... I can audio-recce most of the planes in the US order of battle.

As far as the cams go, as I know you are into HD vid, I'd recommend the Panasonic hdc-sd9 when it comes out in the spring.

I can't believe how much that puts non-HD to shame. The torrent thing is new to me but I think I can get my HD video on up there too. Thanks for the flight!

I watched it this evening with family on a 50" HD screen. Looked really awesome, very high quality. My niece, (11yrs old) wants to start flying soon. The video only got her more excited.

UN-FU**ING-BELIEVABLE!!!
I never downloaded Bittorrent before, but that video definitely made it worth downloading. Fantastic DbyD and KK!

I am jealous, but I should be back in the air within a month now.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Dave had a great idea for us to do this... I'm really looking forward to his vid of the whole weekend.

One amazing thing about these hi def cameras is the quality of the screen caps. They don't do motion well, though, due to the interlacing of the video. This will be addressed in the hdc-sd9, which, of course, I will probably get in the spring. Rolling Eyes

So, here are some caps from three of my flights, including the dave one. The last pics exemplifies the problem with interlacing. If those guys were in focus, or even simply blurred (not two frames shadowed), it'd be a crazy-good pic.

You are having a lot of fun there....
Just take care when you get too close to each other while flying.

That just ROCKS. My SD9 is going to be ordered as soon as it's available... And the SDHC cards are getting so cheap now days. 16GB for $60.

What kind of battery life do you get on your cam? I figure I could get about 2hrs on a 16GB at highest quality, which should cover most of my flights for a little while. Just not sure if the battery would be able to keep up.
