Helping Out a Fallen Brother
Since some of you have expressed a desire to help out my buddy here are your options:
1. Send monies via PayPal. The link will go to my account. (There is no way I can set up an account in his name.) You'll just have to trust me to get the money to him and not spend it on hookers and blow.
2. If you just can't bring yourself to do that , (believe me I understand - I wouldn't trust me either), you can send me a check made out to William Floyd (the pilot's name). Send to:
Doug Koch
7987 Fringetree Court
Las Vegas, NV 89123
Thanks Folks, I know he will appreciate anything you do.

| I will send a check to avoid the PayPal fees. I can't send a truckload of money, but it's better than nothing. |

As a paraglider pilot, I feel it is an honor to help a fallen Brother Pilot. Therefore, expect a check in the mail from me for $500.00. I hope more people in the PG community step up and help a friend and brother pilot. My best wishes for a speedy recovery to the pilot.

TonyL-
You are the man! Now I feel like a chiseler. May I state, in light of your generosity, that paragliders rule! Wait, they will roast me alive for that. Let me state, paragliders are a form of air transport!
Thanks.

Rad:
Billy Floyd? Did he happen to migrate out to Vegas from California some years back? Shock white hair? Into composites? Flew an early rigid (Fledge, I think) way back when and loved to talk about how great it was?
Either way, I'll send some $$ his way through you. Thanks for doing this for a fallen brother in need. |

Yep - it's Billy. Now he has an Extacy and won't shut up about how great it is.
He has been in Vegas for about 10 years now.
Thanks for the donation! |

Aw man...
I haven't seen Bill since 94-95ish. He was a good friend of my cousin's, he came up here (B.C.) with my cousin and hung around for a few summers, did some flying trips around the province, and did a bunch of work for my family while he was here. He once drove up here in his beat up Toyota minivan for a visit and delivered (from California) my first double surface glider, a Magic Kiss 154 FR. Test flew it for me too, cuz the conditions were sketchy that day and I was too nervous about it. Took me tandem a couple years before that (before I'd solo'd a high flight) and we had a blast, I remember I was complaining that I was hanging head down too much so he gets us onto this ridge (this was an XC tandem flight!) that was just barely ridgesoarable and tells me to take over...I'm like WTF?? well ok, then...so I take the bar, he says just go back and forth, and don't drift back too much, and then he spins around backwards! His freakin' feet are beside my head, I'm feeling a bunch of tugging on my harness, and I'm flying the glider on my own! He spins back around, looks around and says nice job, you've gained, keep on doing what you're doing, maybe just a bit further out front of the ridge to be safe. Spins around again, more tugging, and all of a sudden voila, I'm hanging at the correct angle. I never did know what he did back there, I hope he wasn't untying knots in that cocoon!
Hey Rad, when you see Bill, please tell him that Pete and Tyson in BC Canada, and Nana and Uncle John from the heavens, send their best wishes for a quick and full recovery! We are thinking of him, and are thankful that he lived.
