Adam-
You said it all, and very well. For those who were reading the Oz report back when, Adam and I were in the battle together, coming from different perspectives. The experience was... unpleasant, leavened by the comraderie between those of us who tried to make our views heard. |
It was not all that long ago, and I fail to remember what it was about. Hence the point.
I do agree it's more friendly here and comforting to know that you can post without too many people jumping down your throat, depending on what you post of course |

Hmmmm, if this is actually a "foot launch clinic" thread, then Davis must be playing the part of the ramp! Stomp, stomp, stomp, lunge!
The forum section of the Oz Report is simply uncivil. Ridden with thugs. Dog eat dog is putting it mildly. It's more like - dog pack doesn't like your opinion, dog pack attacks, rips you to shreds, then laughs in your face, quite pleased with themselves. No eating involved - that would make too much sense - eat what you kill? Ha ha!
There are guys participating there who I would suggest preflight their gliders very well before EVERY flight (if they actually do fly). The disrespect rampant over there doesn't help anyone. I'm glad this site beats it out in attracting the general HG google inquiry.
Finally, I really don't trust anything on the Oz Report, knowing how the site is (or isn't) run, otherwise. The site's negative side has permanently biased me against it. And I'm (typically) the forgiving type. |

Here's the funny thing, I don't care what anyone here thinks, I bought a light speed off eBay and learned to fly with one flight off the biggest mountain in the alps. I think wheels are for sissies and I parade around launch in my harness.
*newbies this is all false and you will die if your dumb enough to believe me.
I fly for the same reasons you do and there is nothing else in the world that comes close to the auxilerating feeling looking down on that view. We are one and all fight for the same causes. "Can't we all just get along"
And 2 years ago already? I still don't remember what it was about except leprosy and wallaby. But I guess it doesn't even matter anymore.
Wow are we off topic. Sorry (I didn't start it but I guess I'm the only other side of the argument) |

That's because they don't have admin cat.
Gotta give SG his due. A big reason for the civility of this forum is his common sense moderation. |

Other than a few Spam's and a few personal requests I'm not sure sg has HAD to play Admin much. (With the threat of Admin Cat, few dare to push the boundaries.)
This site can't be beat! sg built a valuable site, and thus far, those who use it have really been nothing but helpfull, friendly, and in general people I'm happy to interact with (even if it is just online).
So not only do I thank sg, but I thank everyone who contributes here!
ok mushy time is over! Now waht was the topic again? |

But, there's only a few women here!! And from what I've read, we're all taken! So now what?? This is definitely not a meat market for the men. |

| I know he was joking, but the concept of coming to this site for (available) women is like going to a bar mitzvah for the bacon. |

cool announcer's voice -
. . . .And now back to our regularly scheduled thread, titled - "Foot Launch "Clinic" ".
(** Note - I think AT LEAST 80% of HG pilots have mild to severe Attention Deficit Disorder [with or without hyperactivity]. ) |
