Just got back from a 3 hour walk to the grocery store... 1 block away. The entire central valley population has evacuated to my neighborhood. I'm walking down to an overlook with camera in a while... It was looking like a great flying day. Oh well

I was hoping you would be flying over the tsunami to get some great arial shots! Heading out to Diamond Head lookout to watch the waves.

The different news channels are falling all over themselves to report what they don't know about Tsunamis. One of the talking heads was very surprised to find out that so many different government agencies and news orgs were contacting the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center for information. DUH! Who else would they call?

My sister and her husband are staying at the Hilton on Waikiki right now. At least their on the 19th floor. She said the worst part is the damn sirens going off constantly. I think their going to go to the airport and sit it out there. She's supposed to catch a flight out today sometime but that's up in the air. Say's everyone is taking their boats out to the 1 mile mark and it looks like the islands being abandoned. Laughing She's lived there most of her life so she's taking it in stride.

The news is showing surfers out on their boards waiting for it to arrive.

I grew up in Florida and we always saw surfers out when hurricanes were coming. Some people have no sense.

They're quite rare things tsunamis.
The only guy I know with one is Neil from Avon club.

I only see him up in Derbyshire occasionally, when he's up here working, oh and at the British Open.
Lovely glider, brilliant design. Looks like the most compact and easy to rig rigid, and weighs the same as my Litespeed, or maybe less! Shame they've stopped making them. Everybody I've talked to about them seems to really like them.

WOW - you should have seen the "wave".....

Well, there was no Tsunami but my 2 friends and I did the "wave". Now that I am home, in retrospect, I wish I started a wave with the thousand or so people standing on Diamond Head lookout in front of the CNN live feed - that would have been something cool - oh well next time Laughing
