This isn't about Pat at all. It's about not understanding that many Bay Area sites are strictly regulated. It's about not sending in a simple form in the mail with a $12 check, and getting a sticker sent to your house. Lots of people do it, but a few people don't.

I'm not mad at Noman for feeling the way he does. He lives in an area where there are lots of unregulated or less-regulated sites. All the WOR sites have the same layer of regulation, including Diablo. That's just the way it is.

Noman's convoy wasn't the only group turned around at the border that day. Others who new better still tried, and made a stink about being turned away. I understand that some of them now have their stickers, while others are still sulking...

I won't apologise for enforcing the (many) rules that allow Diablo to remain open. Qualified (H4) and stickered pilots are welcome to join us - especially Noman. surrender

Depends where you live. In Carmel Valley, San Diego (considered a NICE part of town), a 2 bedroom apartment with garage is $2100-$2300 month, not $1200.

Yes, you can get a $1200/month apartment in SD. In the ghetto Laughing

Oh, and the san diego water temp high his 68 degrees, not 75ish

lets make it easier to access, think about it!If you dont i will just sneak up there and fly anyways, nobody is going to stop me are they?.Im a sneaky basterd!.Stupid monopolizing rules suck.

Seeing how you have stepped past a solution to the problem,i will try again!

1-put a lock box in the sign up station box, with stickers in it so people dont have to drive to pat(steal you blind)denavins for a sticker

2-put wavers in the sign up station box

see problem solved
crazy

look your a nice guy,im sure, but god dammit, think about it!.

i would have gladly paid for any sticker and signed any waver
but you did not have any and that is a problem.I dont hate you,i just think your reasoning is seriously lacking.

LETS SOLVE THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!

THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!

see california is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

move here move here.

You blaming Pat Denevan for your problems shows your reasoning is seriously lacking. Not wanting to buy a sticker at his shop just because you don't like him doesn't hurt him, it just makes things more difficult for you. So who's losing out?

I'll give you some E-Team stickers if you come fly the "E". You don't fly the "E", you can't have the sticker.

Denevan and WOR are seperate entities. I believe you can mail in the waiver/money directly to WOR

besisdes, if you have the silver sticker, and you live far enough away, you can fly a few times a year without renewing your membership(as a visitor), stickers don't really expire, WOR membership does

WOR
PO Box 361885
Milpitas CA, 95036-1885

application http://www.wingsofrogallo.org/documents/index.html

I did bring it up at the last night meeting. It would be nice to have the site procedure to have some sort of day use or a guest pass ability for ALL sites. Not just Diablo.

Do it by mail and plan ahead for now!!!

good idea

Awesome Carm thumbsup

Thats the kind of streamlining we need everywhere in this sport.
I was frustrated as hell as a new pilot in the bay area. Its not easy there.

It is still not easy. Like I have said before I do not envy anybody trying to learn in the BA or coming here with less than a 3 rating.

It can be done. There is proof here so BIG KUDOS to the young pilots that are fighting their way through the BS of the BA!!!

Here are some up coming events for Bay Area pilots -not all WOR sponsor but worth noting.

April 25 - 26 Wills wing Demo days (site TBD) it will either be Funston or Ed Levin.
May 2nd WOR Picnic (still need to announce it officially)
May 9th -10th Steeple Chase - Coastal Condors
May 16 -17th Coyote Howl (I think I am going) - Mother Lode skyriders
Memorial weekend - WOR taking a group to the Owens. Need to be prepared for XC and your own retrieves. (I am not going)

There's talk of more WOR event a Hull trip and a few others in the work in the summer months.

Slingblade sorry for the off topic. Where is the location in the BA where you could transfer to?

Most likely sunnyvale. It could take me a while :/ Job openings are somewhat scarce and so it could be either San Francisco or San Diego.

Don't forget all the added bonuses of being a Cali resident.
1. Taxed to death on everything
2. A dwindling supply of water, sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't
3. Electricity now and then, but not guaranteed
4. Affordable rents, for now, until the economy picks up
5. Traffic congestion. It's fun just going no where in traffic with the rest of your
Cali friends
6. Rock n' roll of the Cali faults. A good earthquake now and then is a good thing.
7. Fires, Hmmmm, not much left to burn, but it's still good entertainment

Wow! I sure do miss that place. Wish I was there. thumbsup
